‘Zuru emirate should produce next Kebbi governor’

Youths from Zuru emirate in Kebbi State under the aegis of Zuru Youth Movement for Democracy have called for the next governor of the state to come from their emirate .
A statement signed by the President of the association, Abuja Chapter, Alhaji Dantani Dio Zuru said since the creation of the state in 1991, Kebbi South constituency which comprises
of seven local governments and two emirates namely: Zuru Emirate and Yauri Emirates have been marginalised and constantly denied the opportunity to produce a governor.
He said the lack of equity in the rotational formula enshrined in the constitution of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), which is also the party in power both at the federal level and in Kebbi state appears to be gradually heating up the polity.
The group said in the statement that if the zone is not going to be given the chance to produce a governor in the forthcoming elections, the federal government should carve  it out of Kebbi state, adding that Kebbi state is not made for Gwandu and Argungu Emirates alone.
