I have no rift with Abia gov - Okorocha

Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State has said he has no rift with the Governor of Abia State, Chief Theodor Orji, and cannot point at anything that could be a problem between them.

Okorocha through his senior special assistant on media, Sam Onwuemoedo, stated this yesterday while reacting to accusation against him by the Chief Press Secretary to Abia governor, Mr. Charles Ajunwa for not absorbing Imo indigenes who were sacked by Abia government.
Orji also accused Okorocha of sacking about 2,133 Abia indigenes

from Imo Civil Service and that the Abia government had since absorbed those concerned.
Okorocha said since 2011 when he was elected governor of Imo State, he has never thought of sacking anybody from the state civil service on the ground of where the person came from let alone sacking 2,133 Abia indigenes.
He described the allegation as “neither here nor there” describing it as a “defense mechanism by Abia Governor even when his action of sacking his brothers and sisters from Imo State was indefensible abinitio.”
He said he would be contradicting himself if after all his concerted efforts to unite the Igbos, which have begun to bear fruits he embarked on action that could be divisive among the same people.
He said Orji had demonstrated animosity during the alleged attack on the convoy of the Senate President, Senator David Mark few months ago, where he hurriedly found governor Okorocha and his government guilty of the attack only to discover later that the incident happened several kilometers away from the territory of Imo State.
He appealed to them to leave and assured them that he would look into the matter and even apologized to them on behalf of the Abia Governor. Okorocha appealed to Orji to imbibe the spirit of love and brotherhood in the interest of development.
