This is a "boost for the nation’s democratisation process" says Abdul-Jelili Adesiyan

Police Affairs Minister Abdul-Jelili Adesiyan, has congratulated the governor-elect of Ekiti State, Ayo Fayose, describing his victory as a boost for the nation’s democratisation process.
The minister, in a statement yesterday, said Fayose’s victory signified a defeat awaiting Osun State Governor Rauf Aregbesola in the August 9 gubernatorial election.

He said the outcome of the Ekiti election showed that the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) was loved by Ekiti people whose votes counted.
“Ayodele Fayose has proven to the world through the outcome of Saturday’s election that he’s a man of the people and a grassroots politician to the core. The victory is a testimony that he impacted positively on people’s lives in many ways when he was the governor of the state...
“This is a warning signal for Aregbesola whose draconian policies have brought untold hardship to people of the state, to start preparing for his exit from the government house before the D-day when he’ll be shown the way out by the good people of Osun State.
“I want to appeal to good people of Osun State to replicate what happened in Ekiti on Saturday during the gubernatorial election come August 9, by voting for the PDP gubernatorial candidate, Senator Iyiola Omisore, who will deliver them from the shackles of poverty, slavery and joblessness which are the hallmarks of the APC”, the minister said
He saluted the courage of Governor Kayode Fayemi for congratulating Fayose, saying the former had shown that he was politically mature.
