The North East caucus of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has described the current attempt to impeach Governor Murtala Nyako of Adamawa State as a forceful means of paving way for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to take over the state.
Addressing newsmen after a meeting of the caucus in Abuja yesterday, national vice chairman, North East of the APC, Eng.Bisichi David Lawal, called on President Goodluck Jonathan to call his party men to order in order not to throw the state into chaos.

He said the impeachment move is a grand plan by the PDP to enter the 2015 election with an incumbent in office.
He said the North East caucus of the party is worried about what is happening in the region and “condemns the coercive use of state instruments” for the purpose.
The zonal vice chairman accused the state House of Assembly of allowing itself to be sponsored to destabilise the state to serve the interests of few.
“We call on the President to call his attack dogs off and let our states live in peace,” he said.
On the security situation in Maiduguri, he said the closure of the Maiduguri airport has placed the people of the state and the entire region in danger forcing them to travel by road thereby exposing them to attacks by insurgents and called for the immediate opening of the Maiduguri International Airport.
