Governor Mukhtar Ramalan Yero of Kaduna State has called on members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state to eschew bitterness and strive toward achieving unity.
Speaking when party supporters from the 23 local government areas of the state visited him, the governor said intra-party fighting among members must stop, adding that members were free to contest positions of their choice in the 2015 elections.
He said: “Most of the problems are from within the party, let me make it clear that I have not endorsed any member for any position. All members of the party are free to contest whatever position they are interested, in the end only the will of God Almighty shall prevail.”
Leaders of the PDP from all the 23 LGAs unanimously endorsed the governor to re-contest in 2015.
Leader of the delegation from Jema’a LGA, Senator Babale Maikarfi, said the local governments have been tthe strongholds of the PDP since 1999, assuring the governor that the people that voted for the party in 2011 will vote for it in 2015.
