An aspirant for the Abia State House of Assembly, Maduakolam Adighibe, has alleged that some agents of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) issued him fake provisional clearance certificate.
Adighibe, who is aspiring for Umuahia Central constituency, has, therefore, threatened through his lawyer to challenge the action.
Addressing newsmen after his return from PDP national office, Adighibe said he was shocked to hear that he has been screened out of the assembly race and displayed the authentic one given to him.
“I was cleared by the committee that came from Abuja. I was asked to come back the next day for my certificate. On my return the next day, some officials of the party presented a fake certificate to me.
I had to call the chairman of the screening committee to find out if I was disqualified, he said no, and asked me to come to Abuja for my certificate and this is it.”
He said he was still in the race and would not be deterred by any threats.
