APC has failed Osun people - PDP •It’s FG that’s punishing workforce - APC

The Osun State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has described as callous and wicked the way the All Progressives Congress (APC) government has been treating the workforce in the state, just as it challenged the government for admitting that it approached Interlex Financing Group for another loan.
According to the chairman of the PDP in the state, Alhaji Gani Olaoluwa, the Rauf Aregbesola-led government had been unfair to the workforce, with civil servants in the state yet to receive their March salary despite the approaching Easter festival.
The PDP berated the situation that led to the strike actions by doctors at the LAUTECH teaching hospital and lecturers at the state-owned tertiary institutions, saying the state had begun to feel the burden of Aregbesola’s endless borrowing, even as it advised the governor to face the consequences
of his excessive borrowing rather than putting the blame on the Federal Government for slashing the state’s allocation.
Meanwhile, the APC, through Director of Publicity, Mr Kunle Oyatomi, has urged the PDP to tell the Federal Government to stop punishing the workforce in the country by short-changing the states through reduction in their monthly allocations.
“Go and check, Osun State has been paying its workforce despite the meagre resources available to it. That the salary is not paid as and when due does not mean it is not paid, the PDP should stop this mischief,” the APC stated.
PDP, Omisore, Adesiyan lack capacity to rig 2014 election —AregbesolaBy Oluwole Ige -Osogbo

The Osun State governor, Mr Rauf Aregbesola on Tuesday evening in Ilesa declared that  neither the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the Minister of Police Affairs, Mr Jelili Adesiyan nor the party’s candidate, Senator Iyiola Omisore possesses the capacity to rig the forthcoming governorship poll, slated for August 9, in the state.
He said if the PDP or their agents try to cause violence or fight, during the election, “we would destroy them peacefully”.
Aregbesola, who handed down the warning after commissioning 15 township roads, which cuts across Ilesa Township at Ibala Community Primary School premises said “it will be practically impossible for PDP to foment any trouble in any part of the state”.
While assuring the people of adequate protection before, during and after the governorship poll, the governor cautioned those who were planning to use federal might to rig Osun election to think twice, affirming that such group or individuals would face the wrath of the Osun people.
“The time of brigandage, violence and election rigging in the state has gone for good. Whosoever that makes such attempt will surely regret it.”
Aregbesola reiterated that the extent of his administration’s commitment to changing the face of Osun State, through the construction of modern road networks can be seen in the huge amount of road constructions going on simultaneously all over the state.
He pointed out that the administration is deliberately concentrating on those roads that have very high impact on the socio-economic lives and existence of the people.
Rivers APC congresses undemocratic —PDPBy Dapo Falade - Port-Harcourt

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Rivers State has condemned the outcome of the just-concluded ward and local government congresses of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state, describing it as undemocratic exercise.
The state PDP chairman, Mr Felix Obuah, who made this known in a statement issued in Port Harcourt, on Wednesday, said the exercise was marred with reported clashes and assaults.
According to him, Rivers PDP also observed that there were complaints, condemnations and rejection of the manner APC conducted the congresses, including an alleged abuse and denial of members’ right to freely choose their leaders at the various levels.
“PDP expresses great disappointment with the manner APC, rather than organising an open and transparent wards (sic) and local government congresses to select party executives, handpicked unacceptable persons under closed doors against the wishes of its members.
“To PDP, the action of APC is a clear deviation and contradiction of its averred position as progressives. It is undemocratic, dictatorial and abuse of fundamental rights of expression of the people,” Obuah said in the statement.
