Ekiti 2014: Jonathan reconciles Fayose with failed aspirants

President Goodluck Jonathan has intervened in the skirmishes between the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the June 21, 2014 governorship election in Ekiti State and the other aspirants who lost out the party’s primary.
Weekly Trust learnt yesterday that President Jonathan has appealed
to the aggrieved aspirants to work with Fayoseto ensure that the PDP win the election.
Soon after the PDP governorship primaries that produced the former Governor Fayoseas its  flagbearer, the other aspirants became disenchanted and decided to team up with the opposition.
The source said “President Jonathan told the aggrieved aspirants that the party followed due process in conducting the primaries and that all the aggrieved aspirants would be carried along if the party wins the election. He was angry that they threatened to move to the opposition.
“What the aspirants wanted at the meeting is that they should be compensated. But what some of them are demanding is not even something to ride home about. The meeting lasted for over one hour,” he said.
Fayose in his reaction commended President Jonathan and the national leadership of the party for resolving the crisis and promised to operate an all-inclusive government.
