Group urges Tafawa Balewa to run for president

A group, Nigerians For Change, has urged  Dr. Abdul Jhalil Tafawa Balewa to contest next year’s presidential election.
Coordinator of the group, Prince Dele Oluajo in a press briefing yesterday in Abuja, said  Tafawa-Balewa’s pedigree qualified him for the exalted position.
He said Nigeria needed a redeemer to lead the country, who is completely
unadulterated with new personality.
Oluajo noted that Tafawa Balewa has the understanding of the contemporary world’s socio-economic and political order to lead Nigeria.
The coordinator explained that it took the group five years to come up with its position on the candidature of Balewa.
A member of the group, Miss Binta Ojoma, said the group has handed down a 21-day ultimatum to Balewa to formally declare his intention to contest the presidential election or they would force him to do so.
She said the people leading the country today have disappointed many Nigerians as they only think of themselves rather than the generality of the people.
Mr. Ukah Ebube, the Director of Strategy, National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) said Balewa has the capacity to take Nigeria to the next level, especially in the area of education.
