
The group said it has resolved to close ranks and forge ahead after reviewing
its earlier position on the matter.The group had petitioned the national secretariat of the party accusing the former caretaker committee chairman, Solomon Edoja, of compromise.
Daily Trust gathered that the Congress Appeal Panel sat on the complaints arising from the election and concluded that the congress, conducted by a five-man panel led by Senator Barnabas Gemade, was free and fair and upheld the results.
A statement by spokesman of the Freedom Group, Alhaji Tajudeen Kareem, said at a reconciliation meeting held in Abuja between the newly elected chairman and leaders of the group led by Barrister Kunle Sulyman, that “everyone resolved to bury their grievances, close ranks and work together in the interest of the party and the state”.
The statement added that the meeting examined the lapses noticed in the conduct of the congress and reviewed the roles played by elders and officials of the party.
