APGA seeks confab review of national policing

The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has called for a review of national policing techniques as part of efforts to curtail the present security challenges in the country.
The party also appealed to the federal government and security agencies in the country to work towards perfecting intelligence gathering techniques in the country.
In a statement issued to newsmen yesterday in Abuja by the senior special assistant on media to the national chairman of the party, Victor Eneh, the party described as a welcome development
, the resolve by other countries like the United States of America to assist Nigeria in the fight against terrorism and the release of the over 200 abducted Chibok schoolgirls in Borno State.
“We should use the opportunity of the on-going national conference to review our policing and go back to the 1966 architecture with adjustment to meet present realities. It will involve federal government, state and community policing with agreed pattern for seamless operations” the party said.
It also urged political leaders to be cautious in their statements and actions so as not to cause setback to the fight against terrorism stressing that national interest supersedes partisan politics.
