A group known as Northern Elders of Taraba Concerned Indigenes has endorsed the state acting governor, Alhaji Garba Umar as their choice candidate for the 2015 gubernatorial elections in the state.
Chairman of the group, Mr Bulus Gago
Didango, while addressing a press conference in Jalingo at the weekend,
explained that the group which comprises the six local government areas
from northern zone has unanimously agreed that the acting governor
should contest on the platform of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
“We therefore endorsed UTC because he has been tested on many grounds. He is a man of unquestionable character that nothing to do with tribe, religion or sectionalism as some few elders in the Northern Senatorial zone calling for power sharing which is undemocratic”, he said.
While calling on people of the northern zone to continue to live in peace, the group urged the entire people of other senatorial zones to rally round the acting governor come 2015 to enable him continue his good works for people of the state.
