Governorship candidate of the Peoples
Democratic Party (PDP) in Osun State, Senator Iyiola Omisore, has
cautioned the state governor and candidate of the All Progressives
Congress (APC) in the August election, Mr. Rauf Aregbesola, to stop
disparaging him.
Director of media and strategy for
Senator Omisore’s campaign team, Prince Diran Odeyemi, gave the advice
in a statement in Osogbo.
The statement said: “Aregbesol’s government has been there for close to four years now, what we expect to be their campaign is what they have done to impact the lives of Osun indigenes and not about Omisore.”
It said a performing governor would not need to spend huge amounts of money on billboards and posters for a second term, advising Aregbesola to allow his achievements campaign for him.
It added: “We are proud to say that Aregbesola if given 20 years to govern Osun State cannot achieve one tenth of what Omisore has done for the people, and that was the reason why people voted for him in 2003 while in detention, a feat nobody has achieved in the country.
“The period of his stewardship at the National Assembly witnessed tremendous development that everybody could see except for those who are myopic and have allowed their personal frustration to becloud their sense of judgment.
