Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State
has dismissed the statement by the leader of Movement for the
Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) Chief Ralph
Uwazuruike that he singlehandedly made him governor in 2011.
Okorocha who spoke yesterday in Owerri,
through his senior special assistant on media, Sam Onwuemeodo, said
there is no iota of truth in such claims.
He said:” the truth of the matter is that Chief Uwazuruike did not work for me and APGA in the governorship election in the state in 2011, and therefore would not have made me governor in the circumstance”, he worked for the PDP and his brother, Chief Ikedi Ohakim who was the PDP candidate”

The governor said that for the simple reason that the PDP won election in his Onuimo Local Government Area in the gubernatorial election is a clear fact that Uwazuruike did not work for him.
Describing it as untrue, Okorocha insisted that PDP also won the governorship election in 2011 in Okigwe zone where Uwazuruike comes from.
The question according to the Governor is if Chief Uwazuruike could not make him to win in his Onuimo Local Government and in his Okigwe zone, how then did he deliver him in 2011 talk more of single-handedly?
He recalled that both the former Governor of Anambra State, Peter Obi and the embattled National Chairman of APGA, Chief Victor Umeh had also claimed individually that they delivered Okorocha in 2011 to become governor in Imo State.
He attributed the reasons why people continue to claim on Okorocha’s victory in 2011 as being because he has done very well as governor and everybody wants to share in the glory of his success in Imo.
