TWO KATSINA APC LG CHAIRMEN FACE DISCIPLINARY ACTION

Two members of All Progressives Congress (APC) state executive council in Katsina are to appear before a disciplinary committee over violations of party directives.

They duo, Alhaji Sule Aruwa and Alhaji Ahmed Maigoro, are the incumbent chairmen of the party in Ingawa and Safana local governments respectively.
Katsina State APC chairman Mustapha Inuwa, had while briefing newsmen at the end of the party’s meeting in the state, said the party has to enforce discipline among its members so as to forge ahead.
He said the two members are to appear before the party’s Displinary Committee under Barrister Bishir Babba Kaita to explain why disciplinary actions should not be taken against them for fair hearing.  
Daily Trust gathered that the party had earlier issued a strong directive saying party leaders should avoid visiting or seen to be romancing with aspirants, a move aimed at giving a level playing field for all interested aspirants into elective positions.
However, the two local government chairmen were found to have violated this directive by visiting some local government chairmen aspirants of their respective councils, an action that did not go down well with the APC SEC.
Meanwhile, the party has endorsed General Muhammadu Buhari as its sole candidate ahead of the APC primaries, just as it resolved to purchase both the expression of interest and nomination forms for him.
State chairman, Inuwa, said already about N225,000 was realised when the decision was taken, adding “we shall soon reach out to other stakeholders to actualise our ambitions.”
