PDM claims there is no faction

The Peoples Democratic Movement (PDM) yesterday said there is no faction within the party, dispelling a recent grievance by a group over unresolved internal matters.
The party said it is unaware of a CPC group within the party, as “PDM members have no divided loyalty
and carry only one membership card.”
PDM’s national publicity secretary Ahmed Rufa’i Abubakar said in a statement that such action amounts to breach of the provisions of PDM constitution, since it forbids taking internal affairs to the public.
“PDM members and the general public are advised to take note that there is no CPC group within our party and any member who identifies himself with any political group other than the party is committing a grievous offence.
“We do not recognise any group identity within our party other than our own. Those identifying themselves as CPC members within PDM are advised to do a rethink as, by assuming such an identity, they have, by implication and according to our laws, renounced their PDM membership,” said the statement.
