Why I chose university don as deputy - Fayose

Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in next month’s governorship election in Ekiti State, Mr. Ayodele Fayose,  has explained that he chose Dr. Olusola Ojo, an associate professor, as his running mate because he is apolitical.
He also said his choice of the don was divine. Dr. Ojo replaces the 80-year-old Pa Joshua Ojo, whose name had earlier been submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
While speaking with newsmen
yesterday in Otunja  Ekiti, in Ikole local government, Fayose said his choice of an apolitical person does not in any way suggest he has no trust in politicians.
“ The choice of my deputy, Dr Olusola Ojo, was God ordained. I presented eight people to God and God chose him for me. I prayed to God to direct me according to his will. It was purely a divine inspiration,” he said.
On the choice of Ikere Ekiti indigene as his deputy, Fayose declared that the town is very special and strategic to him among the towns in  Ekiti South senatorial district.
On the recent defection of  former governor Segun Oni to the APC, Fayose disclosed that the PDP would hold a mega rally in Ifaki Ekiti, Oni’s home town today (Friday), to celebrate his  exit from the PDP.
Fayose added: “In that rally, Oni’s foot-soldiers like Senator Ayo Arise, Dayo Adeyeye, Dipo Anisulowo, Bisi Kolawole and many others will be there. We want to prove to him that he is a general without soldiers. We want to celebrate his departure from our party right in his hometown”.
