"Yuguda, Mu’azu settled for one candidate"

A close political associate of the national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Sani Ahmed Toro has said the PDP chairman, Ahmadu Mu’azu  and the Governor of Bauchi State, Mallam Isa Yuguda have resolved to settle for one candidate ahead of the Bauchi State governorship election in 2015.

Briefig newsmen yesterday in Bauchi, Toro who served as Commissioner of sports during the Mu’azu administration said there is no rift between Mu’azu and Yuguda as was the case in the past and warned that people should stop making unnecessary speculations that would heat up the polity.
Toro said: “they had problems in the past but they resolved it, we don’t know why people are just trying unnecessarily to bring clash between the two leaders. Yuguda is the leader of the party in the state and Mu’azu is a member of the team and they have agreed to work together to make sure that PDP produces the next governor in 2015,” he said
“As a person, somebody who is close to Mu’azu, I know his thinking towards that line, he believes that whatever the present governor brings, definitely Mu’azu will support him,” he added.
When asked about other candidates who are interested in running on the platform of the PDP, Toro said: “Mu’azu is not in support of any candidate, what he has told us I believe him. Any nominee of Yuguda will be supported. If today, Yuguda nominates Mr ‘A’, muazu and his supporters will support him.”
The deputy chief  press secretary to governor Isa Yuguda, Mallam Danlami Baban takko has also said Yuguda has not announced his support for any candidate adding that whoever he anoints, the people of Bauchi State would support him.
