Adamawa State governorship aspirant Dr Aliyu Idi Hong said Adamawa is at a crossroads and deserves a visional and dynamic leader like him to rescue the state, redefine politics and democracy and put an end to the “long suffering” of the people of the state.

A People’s Democratic Party  (PDP) governorship aspirant in Adamawa State, Mohammed Sabo Jimeta, has warned aspirants against using the name  President Goodluck Jonathan and that of  the national chairman of PDP to intimidate opponents ahead of party’s primary election.

PDP NWC may discuss waiver for Ribadu, others today



The National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) may discuss the applications for waiver for some Adamawa State governorship aspirants today, Daily Trust learnt yesterday.
The waiver is to allow the three aspirants to contest in the September 6 governorship primaries.

900 pro-Jonathan and PDP groups registered in North East




Political Adviser to the President, Professor Rufa’i Ahmed Alkali said the Presidency screened interest groups supporting President Goodluck Jonathan to know their sponsors and level of commitment.
The screening exercise which started last week Monday ended on Sunday.
Professor Alkali who monitored the exercise in Kaduna on Sunday said many groups have indicated interest to support the President and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) since 2010, but said there was no effort to authenticate them.
